“I have been dancing since I was 5 years old and have been fortunate enough that my hobby became my career. I am passionate about the positive impact of integrating the performing arts into education and wellbeing, experiencing first hand how it can aid physical, social, cultural, artistic and academic development. I believe the work of Artis is hugely important because of the differences it makes to people’s lives.”
Wendy is a professional dance artist whose career has included roles as performer, choreographer, movement director, teacher, lecturer and administrator. A particular highlight of her career to date was working on the Mass Movement team for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies, auditioning and training thousands of volunteer cast for the biggest performance of their lives. Wendy has been particularly involved in dance in education and has been supporting primary school teachers to deliver national curriculum subjects through creative dance for the past 15 years as a teacher, lecturer and consultant. She also has extensive arts administration and management experience and was Business Manager of Greenwich Dance from 2007-2011.
