2023-24: A Year of growth, innovation, and impact

Last year marked an extraordinary milestone for Artis as we celebrated 20 years of inspiring young minds through creative learning. With a mission to nurture creativity in every child, Artis has made a profound impact on thousands of children across the UK, particularly in areas of high deprivation. Here’s a look back at our achievements last year and a glimpse into the exciting prospects ahead of us.

Expanding our reach and impact

In 2023-24, Artis worked in-person with over 7,425 children each week, delivering 8,910 hours of performing arts sessions in 46 primary schools. From singing and acting to dancing, our unique approach to learning brought the curriculum to life. These sessions didn’t just enhance academic outcomes – they improved children’s wellbeing, self-confidence, and emotional development.

Additionally, our partnership with the Guildhall Art Gallery introduced over 996 children to innovative workshops blending maths and the visual arts. Initiatives like this underline our commitment to creative education as a tool for holistic development.

Embracing a digital future

With the generous support of Brandpie, we unveiled a fresh new brand identity this year, repositioning Artis as the creative learning specialists. This rebranding aligns with our ongoing efforts to embrace technology, including the development of an exciting online learning platform. This platform is set to amplify our reach, enabling thousands more children to benefit from our creative approach to learning.

The numbers speak volumes

• 82% of children experiencing participatory arts reported improved wellbeing.
• Artis sessions generated £32 in lifetime benefits for every £1 spent.
• We could generate £3.3 billion annually if implemented nationwide in the most deprived areas.
